Not Taking Things For Granted

One of the things that I’ve been thinking about lately is how easy it is to take things for granted.

We take for granted the fact that we have running water, that we have electricity, that we have a roof over our heads. We take for granted the fact that we have food to eat, clothes to wear, and a bed to sleep in.

We take for granted the fact that we live in a society where we are free to speak our minds, where we are free to worship as we please, and where we are free to pursue our dreams.

All of these things are gifts, and yet we often take them for granted. We fail to see how lucky we are, and how much we have to be thankful for.

So today, I challenge you to think about all the things that you take for granted. Make a list of all the things you are thankful for, no matter how small they may seem.

And then take a moment to appreciate all that you have been given. It’s easy to forget how good we have it, but when we pause to reflect on all that we have, it’s impossible not to feel grateful.
